Jana is a local Artist - one of just a few Maine Glass Blowers. The process she uses is called lampworking, an old method of shaping rods of glass over an open flame. Some finished ornaments are hand - painted with a colored glaze that is fired on. Jana's husband, Jeff, helps her in her business.
Dan & Deb are American Artists who make their own glass ornaments at a working temperature of 2100F. Each glass ball is individually handcrafted, and mouth blown, using no molds. The beautiful colors are achieved by incorporating natural elements and minerals in their process.
Our frosted glass balls are hand - painted by Joanne, an American Artist, who started painting glass balls in 1986 while she was in art school. Joanne signs each one of her handpainted creations, while we personalize each one free with names and a year.
