PEOPLE with PAMPERED PETS

In this issue, we'd like to introduce a new section we are calling "People with Pampered Pets". We're kicking it off with "pampered pets" that belong to members of our Christmas Spirit Family. We'd love to get some pictures from you, our customers, with their "pampered pets". Send them along and we'll include them in the next Newsletter.

Our store manager, Beth, recently adopted Scarlett from our local SPCA. The vet thinks she is a Duck Trolling Retriever, but one thing is for sure, she has a mind of her own. Scarlett was very quick to learn the rules, but occasionally puts her PAW down just so you know she isn't a pushover. Like almost all rescue dogs, she wants (and gets) a lot of affection while occupying her favorite spot...your lap. Gina and Rio                           Photo by Beverly Bono

Beth and Scarlett                Photo by Beverly Bono Gina, one of our newest family members rescued Rio, a Cream-colored miniature Long-Haired Dachshund who is almost 2 years old.  He has the big-dog mentality but loves his canine and feline family members. He is a picky eater and very stubborn but loves to snuggle with whomever has a lap available, usually Gina's. He was a wonderful addition to their family. When they return home, they love his greetings with his tail just-a-wagging.

ISLAND UPDATE - BEAUTIFUL FALL

In early Fall, Santa surprised us with a visit. He took care of a little business with a photo op in our shop. But, since he was on vacation, we didn't press him too much for what goodies he was bringing all of us who are kids at heart. We did sneak one last picture of him relaxing, before he headed back to the North Pole. We've had a wonderful Fall, finally! It got off to a bit of a slow start weather-wise. But the end of October and most of November have been stellar! It has been warmer and less windy than normal, so the leaves actually stayed on the trees long enough to change color. They are beautiful!

Although many of the stores have closed for the season, we will be open daily from 11-4, except on Thanksgiving Day. The shop will close for the year on Christmas Eve, reopening in April of 2012.
