"We have been visiting Bar Harbor for over 15 years now. Our children are getting older and we are thrilled when they can join us on any of our adventures. For the last 3 trips we have stopped to create a unique memory plaque at your shop. Each is displayed in our fifth wheel camper and is something special to all of us. Thank you for our wonderful memory wall. We look forward to watching it grow." Diane from Lewiston, ME.
"I would like to thank you very much for my order which arrived today. It was perfect and intact. I am delighted with your speed and service to the UK." Mary from Scotland
"I just received my order this morning and I couldn't be more pleased - what a wonderful gift for my mother-in-law and cousins to remember our trip to Maine this summer. We make a trip from New York City every summer - even if it is only for a long weekend - and always have the best time." Norma from NY.
Late August weather has been beautiful, with daytime temperatures in the seventies and nights in the fifties. Families with school-age children are leaving Bar Harbor, while couples without children and "empty nesters" are arriving by car, bus, and ship. This season, Bar Harbor is hosting over 100 cruise ship visits from May 11 through October 29, including the Queen Mary on July 5 and the Queen Elizabeth on September 19.
This week, four cruise ship visits are scheduled, increasing to one or two a day in September and October. The ships often cruise along the coast between New York and Canada, in search of fall foliage. Bar Harbor is often voted the most poplular port by cruise ship visitors, with many passengers returning for an extended vacation stay.
